Job Summary:

This position is on the Business Strategy & Innovation (BS&I) team. The BS&I team is Vivint Smart Home’s business strategy team who owns, prioritizes,de-risks, and validates or disproves the master list of new business concepts from the greater organization. The BS&I team owns initiatives from the ideation/new concept phase through early definition phase and provides “invest or don’t invest further resources” recommendations to the Executive leadership team and greater organization.


The team develops data-backed business through ideation, market research, financial modeling, piloting, de-risking, business model R&D, and partnering closely with internal channel partners, vertical/business unit leadership and executive leadership. This position will oversee initiatives within the BS&I group. They will take ownership of various projects ranging from strategy projects, new business ventures and strategic partnerships to new product ideas, optimization/cost savings projects and identifying/developing new roads to revenue.


Job Responsibilities for new team member:

 Responsible to oversee multiple simultaneous initiatives from conception through the de-risking process,

recommendation, and potential transition of ownership to long-term business unit leads

Needs to work closely with manager and other team members to determine and execute upon the team’s priorities

Needs to provide support and mentorship to junior members of the team

Bring a positive attitude to work

This position will be a Manager or Senior Analyst role depending on experience

Requirements

Required Skills:

High level of ownership, drive and urgency

Demonstrated ability to:

o Solve difficult problems using analysis and self-learning

oTake large, ambiguous issues and distil down into key factors with tactical plans to solve problems/questions

o Effectively and concisely communicate with a range of audiences from junior team members to executive

level leadership

o Think critically and identify key risks and financial drivers of business opportunities


Financial Modeling skills

Strong Microsoft Word and Power point (deck-building) skills

Willingness to be entrepreneurial and do whatever it takes to push a project forward

Work well with others in an open and collaborative environment (a must)

Passion for tech industry and being part of a high-growth company


Minimum Qualifications:

Master’s degree in business, or another analytical field preferred or Undergraduate degree with 3-5 years of experience

in a relevant field

Consulting experience preferred
